This project aims to act with a series of positive influences on lives of few selected families on aspects of nutrition, education, health and rights as citizen through application of relevant project components under the organization.

Geographical locations:

The Family Welfare Centre shall be a community premises or a place accessible to the community where a round the clock support or services could be delivered to different members of the selected families from poorest margins in socio-economic status.

We are working on this concept at Work office premises of “APARAJEETA” at South Kolkata with nearly 10 children from nearby slum or street habitations.

We are working in collaboration with Pashchim Banga Kheria Shabar Kalyan Samity for nearly 46 children from tribal communities at Kelardi village in Manbazaar Block, Purulia.

How it Works?

  • 1. Morning Milk/ Health Drink (Chhatu & Gur) Programme for the children at
    Study hours.
  • 2. Sponsorship and mentoring by well of and educated section of the society
    on individual basis.
  • 3. Support for state health care system (ANM, ASHA ) for antenatal, post
    natal and vaccination process of the children through family level follow
    ups
  • 4. Literacy Initiatives for adult members of the family
  • 5. Skill development training for appropriate layers of the family
  • 6. Facilitation on positive changes in living situations for the family
  • 7. AGREED TO BECOME A SPONSOR AFTER SHE/HE STARTS EARNING.
  • 8. NOT RELATED TO THE RESPECTIVE SPONSOR AT FAMILY OR AT WORKPLACE (NO CONLFICT OF
    INTEREST!)
  • 9. Liaison & Advocacy on local issues in collaboration with local administration
    and PRIs.

Highlights from last months

Initiation of study hour under Family Welfare Centre Project at work office premises of APARAJEETA ON 15 TH April 2024, the first day of Bengali New Year.

On the day of 15 th August 2024 on 78 th Independence Day of country , we started the study hour of Family Welfare Centre at Kelardi village in collaboration with Paschim Banga Kheria Shabar Kalyan Samity with 25 children
